Abstract
The habitat use information and habitat suitability index (HSI) models in this report on southern kingfish are intended for use in impact assessment and habitat management. The models were developed from a review and synthesis of existing information and are scaled to produce an index of habitat suitability between 0 (unsuitable habitat) and 1 (optimally suitable habitat). Assumptions used to transform habi tat use information into HSI model s and methods for measuring model variables are described.
