Abstract
The Earthquake Hazard Reduction Program of the U.S. Geological Survey expanded threefold during fiscal year 1978. The program funded nearly 300 projects in the areas of earthquake hazards, earthquake prediction, induced seismicity, and global seismology. Brief summaries of each project are presented in this report, along with highlights of the major accomplishments within each research area.
