COLORADO RIVER MAIN STEM

09058000 COLORADO RIVER NEAR KREMMLING, CO

LOCATION.--Lat 40°02'12", long 106°26'22", in NE14SW14 sec.23, T.1 N., R.81 W., Grand County, Hydrologic Unit 14010001, on right bank at upstream end of Gore Canyon, 3.0 mi southwest of Kremmling and 3.8 mi downstream from Blue River.

DRAINAGE AREA.--2,382 mi2.

WATER-DISCHARGE RECORDS

PERIOD OF RECORD.--July 1904 to September 1918 (published as Grand River near Kremmling), October 1961 to September 1970, October 1971 to current year. REVISED RECORDS.--WSP 2124: Drainage area.

GAGE.--Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry. Elevation of gage is 7,320 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map. See WSP 1313 for history of changes prior to Oct. 1, 1961.

REMARKS.--Records good except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Natural flow of stream affected by transmountain diversions, storage reservoirs, diversions for irrigation of about 40,000 acres upstream from station, and return flow from irrigated areas.
