U.S. Geological Survey Data Series 799
Each map below shows how the flight is divided into areas and how the flightpath is divided up into 5-minute (time) segments. Each segment is represented by alternating purple and yellow lines. Pages containing thumbnail images of photographs, referred to as contact sheets, were created based on these segments. Click on each segment name to access the respective contact sheet. Refer to Table 1 for a list of images, latitude and longitude, and date and time by contact sheet.
Segment names, also referred to as contact print pages, are labeled with the following file name format: yyyy_mmdd_hhmmss.jpg, where yyyy denotes the year, mmdd denotes the month and day, and hhmmss denotes the start of the 5-minute segment of time during which those photographs were taken. For example, image 2012_0207_164000.jpg was taken February 7, 2012, starting at 16:40:00 GMT. All times refer to GMT. Best effort was made to set the camera's internal clock to within one second of GMT at the beginning of the flight.
This survey is divided into two areas, both covering the same flightpath. Area 1 (12CCH01_1) begins at Pensacola, Fla., transits westbound to Cat Island, Miss., then turns south transiting along the Chandeleur Islands, to the Breton Islands, La. Area 2 (12CCH01_2) reverses that flightpath, returning northbound along the Chandeleur Islands, La., to Ship Island, Miss., and then westbound to Pensacola, Fla.
