Slide 43

43. This slide shows the ages of the larger paleo-earthquakes, and the region of dikes for each of these earthquakes. Determining the magnitude of a paleo-earthquake requires determining whether the dikes of a specific age were induced by one large earthquake, or by more than one smaller earthquake. This determination made use of two techniques: one used dike sizes (widths), and the other involved geotechnical analysis.
