Physical Properties of Long Island Sound Sediment Cores

Core A6C2 was taken on June 18, 1996 in 19 meters of water. The core measured 16.5 cm in length and was x-rayed on July 2, 1996. This core was frozen during the x-radiograph and ice crystals are visible in the x-ray image. Features noted are seen in the x-ray profile above and include mottled sediment and some biological features such as shells and worm tubes.
