Core C1C2 was taken on June 19, 1996 in 9 meters of water. The core measured 40.1 cm in length, was x-rayed on June 25, 1996 and was subsampled on July 23, 1996 at 0.5 cm intervals down to 15 cm and at 1 cm intervals below 15 cm. Features noted are seen in the x-ray, water content, and texture profiles above and include sand and mud ribbons, and biological features such as abundant shell layers.
