HOW TO DOWNLOAD THE SEG-Y DATA

Home | Read-Me | Navigation | Profiles | Logs | Metadata | Software | Disclaimer | Acronyms

Note: The web version of this archive does not contain the SEG-Y trace files. These files are very large and would require extremely long download times. To obtain the complete DVD archive, contact USGS Information Services at (888) ASK-USGS.

The seismic data files are binary encoded and cannot be viewed directly. The best way to download the data files is to open the SEGY folder located at the top level of each disc, select the SEG-Y files you wish to download, and either drag and drop these files onto your hard drive or use the copy command. The SEG-Y data files are too large to fit on one DVD, so they have been distributed onto four DVDs as shown below.

Disc 1: 00SCC02 Lines b00c_01a - b00c_23
Disc 2: 00SCC02 Lines b00c_24 - b00c_49
Disc 3: 00SCC04 Lines b00c_50 - b00c_84
Disc 4: 00SCC04 Lines b00c_85 - b00c_120

WARNING: These files can be very large.
