A foliated orthogneiss, sample 03MW0113 is composed
of plagioclase (60%), quartz (15%), biotite (13%), K-feldspar (7%),
epidote (3%), chlorite (1%), oxides (1%), and trace muscovite.
Plagioclase pophyroblasts (0.05-0.4 mm) are generally untwined and may
have overgrown K-feldspar. Fine, granular epidote occurs in the matrix,
and is likely an alteration product of mafic minerals. |
