Sample: 82MW0013 - Granite

GRANITE

Sample 82MW0013 is an unfoliated granite comprised of K-feldspar (40%), quartz (33%), plagioclase (25%), muscovite (1%), and trace oxides and epidote. Perthitic K-feldspar shows tartan twins and variable grain size (0.05-4 mm). Quartz grains, occurring in the matrix, are variable in size and have few subgrains and relatively straight grain boundaries. Muscovite occurs in the matrix and in some grains shows wavy or folded mineral cleavage. In general, this rock is less altered than most granites in the study area.
