High-resolution seismic-reflection surveys in the nearshore of outer Cape Cod, Massachusetts, USGS Open-File Report 03-235 Back to Title Page Figure 11. Interpretive cross section and section of a Boomer profile showing glacial lacustrine (Qdl) within glacial drift (Qd). A sharp facies change on the northern boundary of Qdl and deformed reflectors suggest deposition near glacial ice. The regressive unconformity, ru, marks the base of erosional channels cut into glacial drift (Qd). Channel fill likely consists of fluvial deposits (Qf). However, postglacial marine deposits may in part fill channels. See figure 4 for location of cross section. To view files in PDF format, download free copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader. |
