At the border between Lincoln and Tillamook Counties, Oregon, lies the small Salmon River estuary. As is typical of coastal geology along the northern Oregon coast, the estuary exits into the Pacific Ocean between the ruggedly beautiful Cascade Head to the north and a small sand spit to the south.
