Introduction to the Gulf of Maine Contaminated Sediments DatabaseStation TableThe Station Table in the Gulf of Maine Database is an Excel version 4.0 document using 7.5 MB of hard disk space. It contains information for over 7900 samples. The table contains Unique Identification Numbers (Unique ID) which allow the user to access additional information about the sample from the other tables in the database. The table also contains columns for parameters that give information about the source of the data, the year of the publication, data collection, sampling devices, data type, latitudes and longitudes and 86 other fields (See Parameter List.) The information in the station table (e.g. latitude and longitude data) for each sample may be used in conjunction with measured parameters recorded in the data tables to sort data and to map the distribution of the samples and their concentrations. This section, and following sections, display maps, plots, and other possibilities as both examples and descriptions of the content of the database. |
