GRANITE

Sample 02MW0200 is a granodiorite with the assemblage plagioclase (60%), quartz (18%), K-feldspar (15%), biotite (5%), chlorite (1%), oxides (1%), and trace epidote and sericite/muscovite. Plagioclase grains show albite and pericline twinning and occur as porphyries and matrix grains. Some plagioclase grains are intergrown with K-feldspar. A weak, wavy foliation is defined by micas that wrap feldspar porphyries.
