Hardware and Software Requirements:
This disk is compatible with UNIX, Windows, and Macintosh computer operating systems with the appropriate CD-ROM reader hardware and software. Many of the applications on the disk, however, are designed for the Microsoft Windows operating system.
The CD-ROM is designed to be used in conjunction with World Wide Web browser software (for example, Netscape, Internet Explorer, Mosaic). To view the report, point your browser to file R:\ReadMe.htm where "R" is the letter designating your CD-ROM drive letter. The information on this disk can be explored using the browser interface. Links to pertinent Internet sites, however, require that the user's computer have an active Internet connection. Links to Internet sites are designated by their Web address, for example, the URL: http://www.FHWA.dot.gov
Note: Internet links are valid as of May 2010 but may become obsolete with time.
The executable program files must be installed by use of the accompanying setup wizard. You need administrative rights on your computer to install this software. Some versions of the Windows operating system may produce security warnings when the software is installed or run. For more information on the installation process click here.

Main Report:
USGS SIR 2009-5269 -- The text of the report documenting the current study.
Highway-Runoff Database Documentation:
FHWA-HEP-09-004.pdf -- The text of the report describing the highway-runoff database application.
HRDDv01.pdf -- The data dictionary describing the highway-runoff database.
FHWA-HEP-09-004-Plate.pdf -- Data structures of the highway-runoff database--Entity/Relationship (E/R) Diagram.
Highway-Runoff Database Runtime Installation Files:
Note: This version is compiled in the Microsoft Access Runtime Interface and can be used without a copy of Microsoft Access on the computer. Installing the runtime version ensures that the user has all the necessary software drivers, support files, and database references to run the application. The runtime file must be installed by someone with administrative rights on your computer. Some versions of the Windows operating system may produce security warnings when the software is installed or run. Right-click on the web link, save the installation file to your hard drive, and run it to install the runtime version.
FHWAHighwayRunoffDatabase.exe -- The highway-runoff database installation package.
Highway-Runoff Database Files:
Note: Right-click on the web link, save to hard drive, and uncheck "Read Only" on database properties before using. It is best to use the compiled version of the database (the mde file). If the graphical-user interface of the Highway-Runoff Database generates an error install the runtime version. The Highway-Runoff Database application computer code is written in Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). The VBA computer code that was written by the USGS is open-source software that is available to the public in the uncompiled Access database files.
Note: Changing the names of existing forms, tables, or fields will disrupt the existing graphical-user interface. Make a backup copy before attempting any design changes. Please make note of the License and Disclaimer before making design changes.
HighwayQWV01.0.0a.mde -- A compiled verion of the highway-runoff database application in Microsoft Access 2003 format.
HighwayQWV01.0.0a-2003.mdb -- The highway-runoff database application (with source code) in Microsoft Access 2003 format.
