The archived bottom photographs may be accessed in two ways:

  1. An index map showing the location and distribution of the bottom photographs along the US East Coast.  The user may view the bottom photographs for a given location by selecting the symbol at the position.  When selected, a new browser window will be opened with an HTML page that contains a thumbnail version of the bottom photograph and links to a larger, browse photograph and the 300 dpi full resolution version of the image.

  2. A tabular station list of the locations of the bottom photographs is also available.  The user may view the bottom photograph for a specific location by selecting the hyperlinked FIELD_ID.  When selected, a new browser window will be opened with an HTML page that contains a thumbnail version of the bottom photograph along with links to view a larger, browse photograph and the full-resolution photograph.

The station list is an HTML version of the Microsoft EXCEL spreadsheet also available on this CD-ROM.  Hyperlinks to the bottom photographs HTML pages are also available from the EXCEL spreadsheet by selecting the FIELD_ID.  The EXCEL spreadsheet may be opened from within the user's selected web browser.  However, due to significant differences in various system configurations, the station hyperlinks may not work properly when opened this way.  For best results, start the EXCEL program external to the web browser, and open the stations.xls file located in the tables directory that may be found at the root level of this CD-ROM.  The Field_ID hyperlinks should function properly when the spreadsheet is opened this way.
