Figure 3. Hot water bath used for artificial sand and oil agglomerate (aSOA) creation. A hotplate heated water in the larger rectangular container, melting the paraffin in the six smaller semi-submerged beakers. Sand was then added and uniformly mixed with the liquid paraffin.
