Figure 5. Determination of artificial sand and oil agglomerate (aSOA) density. For each individual aSOA, a mass balance was used to determine the weight, and water displacement was used to determine the volume. Using these two values, the density in kilograms per cubic meter (kg/m3) was calculated as the mass divided by the volume. Graduated cylinder volume is indicated in milliliters (ml).
