This CD-ROM is formatted using an ISO9660, long file names, standard.
- Browsing HTML pages

The html pages on this CD-ROM can be read with current WWW browsers. Some
links included for convenience in these pages point to Internet addresses and
require an active internet connection. These links are not needed to
access the data but are there to provide extra information pertaining
to people and resources involved with the collection, processing, and
interpretation of this data.
- Reading SEG-Y files.

The SEG-Y files on this CD-ROM were created from the raw Q-mips data
collected by the Datasonics SIS7000 "Bob" deep-towed sidescan
sonar and chirp sub-bottom profiling unit. The program used to create
these files was the UNIX based code qmipstosegy. These files will
require specialized software not included on this CD-ROM to view and
edit. All are in standard, fixed trace length, IBM floating point,
SEG-Y format.
- Graphics

All the images contained within this CD-ROM are in either JPEG or GIF
format and should be viewable with either a web browser or any other
graphics viewing software.
- Downloading files

Note that
some virus scanning software may not
recognize the SEG-Y file format of the data on this CD-ROM
and may need to be disabled for a successful download.
