Database Files and Displays

How to Access the Data

The data tables and supporting files are provided in Microsoft Excel 2000, tab-delimited text, Adobe PDF, or Microsoft Word formats. These files can be imported to most word processors, spreadsheet, database, and data manipulation programs, or read using web-plug-ins. Please refer to software manuals or contact Jamey M. Reid or Polly Hastings for conversions or help. It is recommended that a computer platform have a minimum configuration that would allow both the station table and one additional data table to be open simultaneously.

It is highly recommended that the user review the Web pages for each specific table prior to use of the data. There are links provided below that access web pages for the Station, Inorganics, General Organics, Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs) and Pesticides, Polyaromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs), and Texture files. These web pages contain maps and quality assurance histograms that illustrate the nature and use of each dataset. The tables are available for download in each of the sections as individual text (ASCII) files.

The primary Excel file for the Long Island Sound and New York Bight Database is:
File Name: LISNYBDB.xls (24.1 MB, Microsoft Excel 2000 format).
