Multibeam Data Files

Multibeam Bathymetry Data files - are stored in directories by serial day number.  Multibeam data files are binary encoded and cannot be viewed directly.  The .mb41 files are typically <6mb and are labeled with the date and time that they were created, ie:  sb200302212147.mb41 which stands for Sea Beam 2003 collected on date mmdd 02-21 at 21:47 hours gmt.  These files have an ascii header and contain binary information.  During this cruise we used the Caris Hips software to read and process the raw data files.
