Citing Use of Data in this Collection

When useful information is found in this collection of data, citation in the user's work is appreciated. The data from each experiment has its own citation. The text and URL are located at the bottom of each experiment page; a sample dataset citation for the Fire Island 2014 experiment follows:

Armstrong, B.N., Warner, J.C., List, J.H., Martini, M.A., Montgomery, E.T., 2015, Oceanographic measurements-- Fire Island, NY, nearshore, 2014: U.S. Geological Survey data release, accessed October 10, 2015, at http://dx.doi.org/10.5066/F7GH9G0B.

The citation above applies only to the data. If an open file report that describes the experiment, presents graphs of the data, and summarizes the measurements exists (not all experiments have them), the open file report is cited separately, and has a different DOI  as shown below:

Armstrong, B.N., Warner, J.C., List, J.H., Martini, M.A., Montgomery, E.T., Traykovski, Peter, and Voulgaris, George, 2015, Coastal Change Processes Project data report for observations near Fire Island, New York, February to May 2014: U.S. Geological Survey Open-File Report 2015-1033, accessed November 30, 2015, at http://dx.doi.org/10.3133/ofr20151033.
