Scatter Plots

Skip navigational side bar

Scatter plots provide a simple graphical picture of the magnitude and direction of the current. Scatter plots of east and north current were created from the hour-averaged and low-passed current observations at the surface, mid-depth, and bottom (for point current meters ) and for selected depths from the ADCP. The low-passed data are subsampled by 6. The principle current ellipse (see Principal Axes) is superimposed. The scatter plots are presented by year, but note that the measurements typically do not cover an entire year.
