Scatter plots of the hour-averaged and low-passed
currents (subsampled by 6) visually show the distribution of the
current speed and direction. Superimposed on the scatter plots are
the mean vector current over the entire deployment, and the principal
axes of the currents, shown as an ellipse.
Scatter plots of east and north current for hour-averaged and
low-passed current observations near the bottom from
BASS or MAVS sensor: The hour-averaged
scatter plots include all data points. The low-passed scatter plots
are subsampled by 6. The principal current ellipse is superimposed.
At Stations A, B, and D, two BASS sensors recorded data
at different depths (both are included); at Stations C and E, only
one MAVS sensor was deployed.

Scatter plots of east and north current for hour-averaged and
low-passed ADCP observations at 5 meters below the
surface and from the deepest depth bin available: The hour-averaged
scatter plots include all data points. The low-passed scatter plots
