Appendix 3 – Bottom Photographs

A total of 2426 bottom photographs were obtained along more than 300 SEABOSS survey lines in the Buzzards Bay and Vineyard Sound study areas during USGS field activity 2010-005-FA aboard the RV Connecticut (September 9-14, 2010). (See Seafloor Photography and Video in the Data Collection and Processing section of this report). Typically 5-15 bottom photographs were obtained at each station with the SEABOSS system as the survey vessel drifted over the seafloor. The field of view or "footprint" of the photograph is approximately 0.5 to 1.25 meters from left to right, depending on the altitude of the camera when the photograph was taken.

Photographs can be viewed in the photo-gallery pages below or by using one of the KMZ files (BBVS_KMZ_BottomPhotos_wBio.zip) or GIS shapefile (BBVS_BottomPhotos_wBio.zip) from appendix 1 (Geospatial Data).
